Seven ideas for seven decisive years

The work involved the participation of the President of Board of Directors of Quaternaire Portugal in a group of Northern and Galician experts, recruited by the Eixo Atlântico Association to elaborate a synthesis of the conclusions of the Second Strategic Study of the Eixo Atlântico, adapting them to the programming period 2007-2013 guidelines.  The study particularly focused the cohesion policy evolving trends and the challenges that these trends generate to the Euro-region Galicia-North of Portugal territory. The seven strategic ideas encompassed the following fields: (i) A balanced territorial model; (ii) A sustainable urban system; (iii) Higher centrality to cities;(iv) Governance and partnership promotion; (v) A bet on knowledge and innovation society; (vi Sustainable development and employment creation; (vii) A common cultural space.
