Inter-municipal Action Programme targeted at Proximity Public Territorial Services - NUTS III Douro 2007-2010

The study has been developed with the support of a multisectorial (10 sectors) survey of the NUTS III Douro municipalities, taking into account the national and regional sectorial policy guidelines. The programme covers 19 municipalities and presents strategic proposals for the territory as a whole and the priority local intervention axis for the period 2007-2010. 7 intervention axis are considered: 1. Extension and organization of the collective services network;  2. Enhancement of the natural resources and the landscape;  3. Strengthening of the internal and external connectivity and of mobility within the region;  4. Organization of the regional economic fabric; 5. Enhancement and development of tourism resources; 6. Urban qualification and competitiveness; 7. Institutional . strengthening and administrative modernization. For each of these axis, the Programme establishes objectives, selection criteria of the projects and goals to achieve in the period 2007-2010 and groups the projects and actions proposed by priorities established by the 19 municipalities. Projects and actions are presented in three levels of priority; high, average and low. The Programme also integrates financial scenarios for the investments that may be submitted for funding to the different pririty axis of the Regional OP Norte.
