Tourism Strategic Plan for the municipality of Mafra

The municipality of Mafra presents a significant increase of population, improvement of accessibility and it is endowed with endogenous tourism resources and a strong historic and cultural and rurality image. In this context, is faced with the need of orienting its initiatives towards the consolidation of its territory as a qualified, sustainable and diverse tourist destination at national level.  The Tourism Strategic Plan established the main strategic objectives that will guide the municipal management. Based on a survey of the tourism and heritage resources available in the territory,  and of the evolving trends in the tourism sector, the Plan defines a Mission, a Vision for the tourism activity within the local territory and a set of strategic goals. The Action Plan materializes the initiatives led by the municipality that will be necessary to implement the strategy. It encompasses measures in the fields of tourism development, promotion and investment, being supplemented by a control and monitoring system of all implementation procedures.
