Developed for the Industrial Association of Aveiro District, this study had as main output the presentation of a Competences Referential to Support the Internationalization of SME and its related training referential. Supported in documental analysis, interviews and focus-group with enterprises and specialists in the internationalization field and case studies in companies, the itinerary of the study comprises the development of an international benchmarking analysis, the analysis of European policies in this domain and the search of strategic guidelines to the development of the referential of competences . The results achieved aim to contribute to the reinforcement and qualification of the public policies in this domain. Thus, it is expected that the mapping of the qualification needs and the developed referentials may feed the consolidation of vocational training practices based on public instruments. The study yet developed recommendations to the guide of training strategies.
