The study aims at supplying the Association Eixo Atlântico with technical knowledge to support a new political intervention paradigm, focused not on the strategic follow-up of road infrastructures but instead in infrastructures able to contribute for the increase of the Euro-region Galicia-North of Portugal competitiveness levels. Railway system (focused on the modernisation of the link Porto-Vigo), port and aeroport systems and logistics are analysed and a particular view of the technological-based infrastructures is developed. The study concludes that the cooperation potencial is unven and heterogenous in these matters, highlighting that the logistic system (considering that it involves projects still needing physical and economic consolidation) and the technological-based infrastructures as deserving to be the focus of the Eixo Atlantico intervention. As far as the port system is concerned, the study concludes that in order to have a more effective cooperation is very important to involve the port community of economic actors operating with each port rather to involve exclusive the port management bodies.
