Quaternaire Portugal developed the Plan of Intervention in Rural Areas (PIER) of Herdade Vale Coelheiros in Aljustrel.

A PIER is a specific type of Detailed Plan that covers only rural land and establishes rules concerning, among other things, to:

• construction, reconstruction, alteration, extension or demolition of buildings when necessary to carry out activities authorized in rural land;

• implementation of new infrastructure and equipment;

• operations of protection, recovery and restoration of the landscape;

The PIER_ ValeCoelheiros aims to establish the conditions for economic viability of the farm, ensuring the development and land use planning through:

• establish rules for construction, reconstruction, alteration or demolition of buildings;

• defining the deployment of new infrastructure and modifying conditions of the existing ones;

• determination of the conditions for the installation of additional activities and operations of protection, enhancement and restoration of the landscape.

This plan has a total implementation time of 2 months.
