The study aimed at to support in strategic and economic terms the proposal presented by the municipality of Santo Tirso to the cofinancing of the Regional Operational Programme Norte 2014-2020, concerning the requalification and expansion operations of two groups of entreprises location areas, one involving the location areas around the so-called Labour Road and other concerning the Vilarinho Zone. Additionally to the analysis of the vibrant SME's system located in these zones and of the conformity between this productive system and the Norte RIS 3 priorities, the study developed the following themes: estimation of private investment induced by the project to be implemented till 2020; analysis of the economic impact and of the estimated results of both operations; demonstration of their economic rationale; demonstration of the conformity between the operations and the selection criteria established for allocating the ERDF contribution; action plan and financing model.
