The Integrated Development Strategy for Central Alentejo (IDS-CA) results from a participatory strategic planning process, culminating in the presentation and approval, in May 2014, of the Action Plan for the Central Alentejo region in 2014-2020.

This version of IDS-CA supported the formal recognition of the local strategy as a basis for future contracting of pacts for development and territorial cohesion and community-led local development processes, in accordance with national and European regulations. It corresponds to a sub-regional strategic framework, coherent with the regional strategy streamlined by CCDR Alentejo and establishes a reference to municipal and intermunicipal public intervention in Central Alentejo and to competitiveness strategy, linking up with regional smart specialization strategy.
