The Viana do Alentejo URAP (Urban Regeneration Action Plan) corresponds to the proposal of the Municipality of Viana do Alentejo (located in the Alentejo Central NUT III) to develop an integrated urban regeneration operation in order to apply to the Regional Operational Programme Alentejo 2020. The action program will mobilize EU funding (ERDF) to promote projects of public and private initiative (supported by the Financial Instrument for Urban Rehabilitation and Revitalisation), focusing on three areas of urban renewal: the historic center of Viana do Alentejo village, the historic center of Alcáçovas village and the old urban area of Aguiar village. The public investment program fundamentally addresses public spaces redevelopment projects and also public buildings rehabilitation projects in a perspective of promoting the characteristics of its architectural and urban heritage and the reutilization of real estate assets for public and collective use.
