Technical Assistance to the Porto Regional Centre of the Portuguese Catholic University
The work has externally assessed the strategic positioning of the Porto Regional Centre of the Portuguese Catholic University within the context of the private and public higher education institutions in Portugal. The study was targeted as to be combined with the internal assessment led by the Catholic University team itself. From the methodological point of view, the study explored the relationships between "functions, knowledge fields and evolution drivers", aiming at defining a competitive positioning. The evolution drivers that have been analyzed were the following ones: (i) Organization and work modalities; (ii) Evolution and demographic and territorial trends; (iii) ITC new trends; iv) New jobs, new social needs and new demand; (v) Life-long learning; (vi) Scientific System and National Innovation System evolution; (vii) University and territory; (viii) Creativity, innovation and training;(ix) National and regional macroeconomy; (x) University organization trends; (xii) Social innovation and sustainability. The study also encompassed an analysis of the main competitors of the Portuguese Catholic University.
