Estudo de Cooperação Luso-Espanhol do Norte de Portugal

O estudo consiste na elaboração de um SURVEY sobre o processo de cooperação transfronteiriça na região Norte, com identificação de dinâmicas, projectos e actores, destinado a integrar uma publicação do Eixo Atlântico.

Strategic Agenda of the Chaves-Verín Eurocity (the Water Euro-City)

The project consisted in designing a proposal of strategy and operational priorities for implementing an Euro-City in the border region of North of Portugal and Galicia, involving the municipalities of Chaves and Verín. The Agenda established three strategic intervention axis: : (i) Build the Eurocitizenship; (ii) A sustainable territory;  (iii) Enhancing economy. The process is now undergoing (http://www.eurocidadechavesverin.eu). The Agenda has been elaborated by a Portuguese and Spanish team, involving Quaternaire Portugal consultants and researchers of the Vigo and Coruña Universities,using a strongly participative methodology, putting together more than 60 participants in several discussion panels in both cities. The work has been published by the Association Eixo Atlântico.

Evaluation of the Implementation of the Common Investments Programme Galicia-North of Portugal 2014-2020

Within the framework of the already consolidated inter-regional and transborder cooperation between Galicia and North of Portugal and in order to successfully prepare the access to the 2014-2020 programming period funding, the two regions decided to elaborate a Joint Investments Plan, coordinated by the already operating AECT Galicia-North of Portugal. The Joint Investments Plan (JIP) aimed at orienting the regional actors involved in the cooperation process regarding the cofinancing of INTERREG VA (POCTEP Spain-Portugal) operating along all the frontier Spain-Portugal and other EU programmes. The study evaluates how the first wave of projects approved by the INTERREG VA is in line with the great strategic options of the JIP 2014-2020. Additionally to this analysis, the study also evaluated other achievements animated by the AECT activity and by the Community of Work between Galicia and North of Portugal.

Among these other initiatives, the study analysed the transborder RIS 3 (the first one to be elaborated in Europe), the IACOBUS programme involving traineeships of researchers, teachers and administrative staff, the entrepreneurial cooperation in textiles and apparel industries and the important mattter of reducing the transborder context costs.
