Within the framework of preparing the new programming period 2014-2020, the Algarve's Intermunicipal Community, AMAL, assumed some planning tasks and responsibilities implying repositioning and internal reorganisation needs. The study designs a repositioning strategy for the institution, based on the full analysis of the Regions's actors system and on the analysis of the relevance of the regional actors strategies for the AMAL's activity and of the influence that AMAL's strategy represents for those regional actors.
The study concluded that AMAL may solve some institutional failures identified by the regional actors which participated in the process concerning the representation of regional interests not only of the municipalities that AMAL represents and the fields of regional animation and information.
The repositioning strategy defines repositioning axis and objectives and proposes a set of guidelines for action in order to achieve the targeted positioning. The study also identifies training and capacitation needs and presents a programme of regional animation to be led by AMAL.
