CIMAC is one of the intermunicipal communities developing a more advanced experience of shared services management in Portugal. The study assesses the state of art of integration and management of shared services in 15 fields: information and communication services; GIS; Environnment, Water distribution and sewage services; Energy; Mobility and trnsports; management of equipments; management of roads; business location; culture; training; spatial planning and risks and civil protection. Two fields, business location and mobility and transports, have been analyzed in depth. Based on the state of art assessment results mentioned before, uneven and heterogenous, the study proposes

a strategy for developing the integration and management of shared services, taking into account the organization installed in the different municipalities integrating CIMAC and the need of reinforcement and creation of resources and competences centres within CIMAC organization.
