The study identifies and characterizes the professional competence certification system in Portugal concerning the 19 jobs of the logistics sector. It is divided in four chapters:

(i) it describes the professional competence certification system in general in Portugal;

(ii) it identifies the access requirements for logistics jobs of non-higher level in Portugal (either integrated or not integrated in the National System);

(iii) it introduces the certification process, including specific access requirements for 19 identified jobs, namely the prerequisites for accessing certification in jobs of higher and non-higher level, including the competence framework for jobs of non-higher level with a curriculum already structured by competence units (e.g. Logistics Manager) and study programmes for one or more higher level jobs;

(iv) finally, it presents some international certification systems that may be applied to the jobs in question in Portugal and the EU.
